The Cory Catfish, also known as Corydoras, is a fairly common breed among owners of freshwater aquariums. The fact that Cory catfish consume a lot of algae is one of the key reasons why so many people buy one or more of them. Actually, Cory catfish are utilized as fish to clean the bottom of aquariums. It spends the most of its time searching the tank's bottom for food scraps, especially algae. Actually, a single Cory can remove all the algae from a 20–30 gallon tank by itself.
